There will be a little bit of a delay sharing my weekly roundup of pictures due to my laptop charger deciding to start sparking. Yeah, I threw it away. So while waiting for my new one to show up here are some recent Instagram shots to keep you happy. 🙂
1. Playing with TitleFx (which is free right now!) and loving it. This is one of my senior pictures taken by my lovely friend Jennette.
2. Heading off to Presbyterian Heritage Sunday wearing my Smith tartan scarf. Lots of haggis, lots of kilts, and some Irn Bru (I don’t like Irn Bru at all)
3. A shot from my morning run last week. So blessed to live in a Navy Town.
4. My ootd featuring my cut-off trouser shorts that one of my loving aunts hemmed for me because I was too lazy to do it myself. So thankful and I love the result!
…are my favorite item of clothing right now. They can be put with everything!
Shirt – Liz Claiborne Collection (Stolen/borrowed from my mother’s closet) * Skirt – Caprette San Francisco (Estate Sale) * Belt – Gift from grandmother * Bracelet – DIY * Shoes – Urban Outfitters
This is one of those outfits that I simply agonized over but once I made my decision I was sure it was the right one. It was one of those outfits that I walked out the door and felt confident instead of insecure about what I was wearing. That is always the challenge when playing in the world of fashion, especially fashion blogging. You never know when something is going to work. Luckily, this outfit did!
I absolutely love this scarf. I have no idea where it’s from except that I stole it borrowed it from my mom’s closet. You can’t really tell in these photos but it has (I believe) Chinese characters on it and I just love the little extra something that it gives to this otherwise very classic and plain outfit.
Dress (worn as shirt) – Macy’s * Skirt – Thrifted * Wrap – Calvin Klein
You know those times where you have no idea what to wear? Today was one of those days. I just had to try something new, so I decided to wear this dress (last seen here) as a shirt. It worked out surprisingly well and I was really happy with how it turned out. Do any of you ever wear things some other way?
Dress – Chico’s * Scarf as belt – Scottish Treasures * Earrings – Claire’s * Shoes – Toms
Scottish Heritage Sunday is one of my favorite days of the year. Our church comes together and dresses up in kilts and tartans, eats haggis and shortbread, and celebrates our Scottish roots. We even have a bagpiper, which is my favorite part. I would love to have bagpipes at my wedding. The top picture is a picture of my parents and I all wearing the Smith tartan. My dad absolutely loves his kilt, and it is a joy to watch him and all the other men in our church who also wear kilts wear smiles on their faces as they fellowship with each other. It’s a nice reminder to remember where you come from.
I really wanted to wear this outfit today because it reminds me of summer and all that summer entails. Sun, surf, wind in my hair, happiness, hanging out with friends. Colors make me happy. So why not have a little sunshine in your life?
